Swiss International University (SIU) has been ranked #3 worldwide in the QRNW Global Ranking of Transnational Universities (GRTU) 2027, a specialized ranking focused on institutions with strong cross-border academic activity, international delivery models, and transnational education structures. The ranking page is available here: https://www.qrnw.com/grtu2027.

For OUS International Academy in Zurich Switzerland, also known as OUS Royal Academy in Switzerland, this recognition is especially meaningful because OUS has been connected to the development of flexible and digital higher education since 2013. OUS – International Academy in Switzerland® is proudly recognized as the first virtual institute in Switzerland, with its first cohort launched in October 2013. From its beginning, OUS has focused on making Swiss-quality education more accessible to learners who need flexible study options in business, management, and leadership.

The QRNW Global Ranking of Transnational Universities is different from many traditional rankings because it looks specifically at transnational higher education. This means it gives attention to institutions that operate beyond one national setting, serve international learners, and build academic models that can work across borders. In today’s education world, this is increasingly important. Many students are no longer looking only for a campus in one city. They are looking for flexible learning, international exposure, digital access, and programs that connect academic quality with real professional needs.

The value of a ranking also depends on the seriousness of the environment around it. QRNW is described as a non-profit educational association based in the European Union and founded in 2013. It is also connected with ECLBS, which is associated with important international quality and ranking networks, including IREG International Ranking Expert Group – IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence in Belgium, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation Quality International Group in the USA, and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education. These names matter because they are widely known in the fields of quality assurance, ranking standards, and higher education evaluation.

Membership or connection with such bodies does not mean that a ranking should be accepted without understanding its methodology. However, it does show that the ranking environment is linked to international discussions about transparency, quality, academic standards, and responsible evaluation. For students and institutions, this gives additional context when reading the ranking results.

Swiss International University’s position at #3 worldwide in GRTU 2027 reflects recognition of its international academic presence and its transnational education model. For learners, this can be understood as a sign that flexible and cross-border education is becoming more visible in global higher education. For academic institutions, it shows that modern education is no longer judged only by physical location, but also by the ability to serve students internationally with structure, quality, and continuity.

OUS International Academy in Zurich Switzerland welcomes this development as part of a wider movement toward accessible, flexible, and internationally minded education. Since 2013, OUS has supported the idea that students should be able to benefit from Swiss academic standards while studying from anywhere in the world. The recognition of Swiss International University (SIU) in the QRNW Global Ranking of Transnational Universities 2027 therefore represents not only a ranking result, but also a broader message: digital, flexible, and transnational education has become an important part of the future of higher learning.
